DirectX is the multimedia system foundation for Microsoft Windows® operating systems. To get the full advantage of upgrading or installing DirectX, you need to remove and reinstall your video and sound drivers. This gives better integrity and compatibility between the drivers and DirectX. The following instructions are the proper procedures for removing and reinstalling your video and sound drivers after installing or downloading the DirectX software.
