General Information: You can use the WinBook J1 Restore CD to reinstall Windows ME back to the factory shipped conditions. This Tech Article covers both using the Restore CD to restore your original drive to factory shipped condition, or to do a "safe" recover in order to keep your applications and data protected. In order to proceed you will need
to following items: Changing The Boot Sequence to allow booting from the Restore CD.
Format and Recover Hard Drive
Recover Hard Drive Without Format
Installing PowerDVD software or Adaptec EZ-CD Creator software If your computer came preinstalled with either the PowerDVD software or Adaptec EZ-CD creator you will need to reinstall that software with the CD that came with the computer after running the Restore CD on the Computer. This can be done be placing the CD in the CD-ROM drive and following the on screen instructions. |
