  1. Plug the monitor into the X1 (this will not work unless the external monitor is connected on boot up).
  2. Power on the unit.
  3. Once the unit has booted into Windows, click on the Start button.
  4. Go up to Settings.
  5. Go into the Control Panel.
  6. Double-click on Display icon to open it.
  7. Go to the Settings tab.
  8. Click Advanced.
  9. Go to the Display Mode tab.
  10. Change the driver mode from Mirror to Multimonotor.
  11. Choose which display you want to be the primary LCD or VGA.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Reboot when prompted.
  14. When the system reboots, you have to go back into the display properties.
  15. Go to the Settings Tab to enable the second monitor (this is now available).
  16. To enable the second monitor click on the monitor number 2.
  17. You will then be prompted to enable this monitor. Click Yes at this prompt
  18. At that point you can set the system to Extend the Desktop onto that monitor.
  19. This is done by clicking the checkbox down at the bottom of the Settings tab in the Display properties.
