Subject: Turning off the audit mode on WinBook unit running Windows ME

  1. Turn the system on. Let Windows ME boot up. Once everything is loaded you will see the audit program window in the center of the screen.
  2. After the unit is up and running click on the START button and then click on the RUN.
  3. Once the run window opens type in "msconfig" and click on the OK button.
  4. This will open a System Configuration Utility window. At the top of this window there will be a total 7 tabs, click on the tab that says STARTUP
  5. This will show a list of programs that startup when your computer turns on. One of these programs will be called OEM audit Mode or OEM reset reminder.
  6. There will be a check box to the left or OEM audit Mode or OEM reset reminder. Remove the check by clicking on the box, then click on the Apply button, and then the Ok button.
  7. A box stating you must restart your computer for the new settings to take effect will appear. Click on Yes.
  8. Your computer will reboot and the audit program should no longer start.
