You will needs the following things to install the patch on this machine 

I386 Patch and Service Pack 1 CD

Changing The Boot Sequence to allow booting from the I386 Patch CD.

  1. As the computer is starting up, you will see the message Press F2 for Setup. Press the F2 key until you see the blue Setup Screen.
  2. Use the Right Arrow key to move to the Boot Menu (along the top of the screen).
  3. Use the Up and Down Arrow keys to Highlight ATAPI CD-ROM.
  4. Press the Plus (+) key to move ATAPI CD-ROM to the top of the list.
  5. Press F10 to save changes. When asked if you wish to save changes, press Y and then Enter.

Recover I386 Directory

  1. Ensure that the WinBook I386 Patch CD is in the CD-ROM drive and restart the computer
  2. Read the welcome screen thoroughly and then press OK.
  3. Double click on the icon for Recover I386 Directory.
  4. Click OK to start recovery process.
  5. When recovery is complete press OK, then press OK again.

Restore Windows 2000 Service Pack 1

  1. Double click on the icon for Restore Windows 2000 Service Pack 1.
  2. Click OK to start restore process.
  3. When restore is complete press OK, then press OK again.
  4. Removed the I386 Patch CD, and press ctrl-alt-del to restart windows.
