Information on Device Manager: Device manager is a very handy tool for trouble-shooting and correcting hardware related problems in Windows 2000. It is almost identical in functionality to the device manager in Windows 95, 98, and ME. It gives you basic information as to rather or not a device is functioning properly, the settings for the device. And in some instances the resources being used by the device (Input / output addresses, Interupt Requests, and DMA channels).
Note: device will only be listed for those that are currently recognized by windows. This will include any plug and play devices and any other devices that have been installed with add remove hardware component.
