Frequently Asked Questions for MiniCDRW

I have connected my USB cable to the computer, and I cannot configure my computer to see the MiniCDRW.
The minimum system requirement needed to run the USB cable with the MiniCDRW in Windows is Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 98 Service Pack 1, Windows ME, or Windows 2000. Please be certain you have the correct operating system.

I installed the USB driver, and I can see the drive letter in “My Computer” area, but every time I insert the disk, the MiniCDRW does not recognize the CD, and the “No disk in drive” message shows up on the screen.
Check to see if you have the correct version of the Windows operating system.

Check to see if the driver provider is ISD and not Microsoft. To determine the driver provider, go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager, Universal Serial Bus, and choose USB Storage Adapter V2. Double click on it and click on the Driver Tab. Look at the provider, and make sure it is ISD. If you see Microsoft as the provider, simply click the UPDATE button, and update your driver by using the provided floppy diskette. Reboot system and try again.

If the problem still exists, replace the USB cable. When installing the PC card, it uses the Standard default windows driver (IDE/ESDI CONTROLLER), and you do not need any diskette to install drivers for the PC Card.

I connected my MiniCDRW to my computer, and the Green (ON) light is not showing any lights?
Make sure you have attached the 12-volt AC/DC adapter. Please look at the bottom of MiniCDRW, and connect power to the side with POWER IN label.

I inserted a blank CD into my MiniCDRW, and the system is asking me to insert a blank CD with sufficient CD spaces?
Check to see if the blank CD-R was not used before. When using CD-R CDs, you can record on it only one time. You may have started to burn the CD, then the process stopped due to a power failure, corrupted data, or some sort of an interruption during the middle of the burning process. If you used the CD before, replace it with an unused blank one.

How can I remove two-second gaps between songs on the CDs I create?
After tracks are selected for recording, click the CD button in red. In the CD creation setup screen, click ADVANCED option (Disc at Once). This will write the music file without placing gaps between tracks.

Why when recording my music files do I hear hissing or popping after I create music CDs?
Many older CD-ROM drives were designed to perform an audio extraction technique at a fast speed. Errors will not normally be reported to the content surface during burning. Select your CDRW as Source and Destination drive, and use it for both functions. You may also want to look at updated CD-ROM drives on the market with error correction capabilities.

Why do other computers fail to read my burned CDs?
You may have several issues regarding this error:

You are using CDRW CDs and the computer CD-ROM is not capable of reading RW media. In this case windows are not allowed to read UDF format. Install Direct CD to allow windows to read UDF format.
You can burn CDs with CD-R CDs and that allows you to read in most CD-ROM CDs (car stereo, home stereo or CD-ROM drives).

I tried to play an audio CD on my CD-RW but I can't hear any sound?
In order to play audio CD on your unit, you will need to purchase a mini stereo to mini stereo jack patch cord from a local electronic supply store, such as Radio Shack. Plug in one end of the cord to the audio out jack on the CD-RW and the other end to the audio in jack of your sound board (usually located on the back of your computer).
