The liquid crystal display (LCD) of your WinBook consists of an average of more than two million individual transistors (tiny light emitting devices). The transistors( pixel ) turn on and off in a process that creates the image on your display. Due to the large number of transistors, it is not uncommon for one or more transistors to get locked in a fixed state. When this occurs, the locked transistor maintains a solid color such as black or white. In most cases, locked transistors are not noticeable and do not detract from the quality or usability of the display. The transistors are fixed into the display and do not affect surrounding transistors.

Stringent quality control standards ensure that the display of your WinBook is clear and viewable. A display with 1-9 locked transistors meets industry quality specifications and is considered acceptable. If you notice more than nine locked transistors on your display or if the position of any locked transistor(s) impairs your viewability of the display, contact WinBook Technical Support. A technician will take your information and determine if your display meets our quality specifications.
