The WinBook TL30 notebook comes with a create-your-own recovery program that will create a set recovery discs that are used to reinstall Windows in the event of un-repairable software issues or hard drive failures. This article will walk through the steps necessary to create this set of recovery discs.
The recovery discs are used to to repair problems with Windows or reinstall Windows back to its factory original pre-loaded condition. The Recovery Center will only allow the creation of one (1) set of recovery discs. Please label the recovery discs appropriately and keep them in a safe place for future use.
- Click on the Windows Start button, click on All Programs, and select Recovery Center.
- Click on Factory Recovery external media. If the Factory Recovery external media is not an option then the recovery media has already been created.
- Click Next.
- Choose the Create system recovery discs option and then click Next.
NOTE: Only one recovery option can be done. Once a disc has been burned or an ISO created the "Factory Recovery external media option" will disappear.
- Insert a blank CD-R, DVD-R or DVD+R and then click Next. CDRW and DVDRW media is not supported. A "Media Invalid" error will appear if CDRW or DVDRW media is inserted.
- The recovery center will detect the type of media that you inserted and prompt you with how many discs it will require. Select one of the two options and then click Next.
- If more than one (1) disc is required, insert the next disc when prompted and then click Next.
