Performing a Recovery without Format of Windows XP:
1. Insert the restore CD disk 1 into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Push the power button down and hold it down until the system powers
off.
3. Turn the computer on, and immediately begin pressing the F2 key approximately
twice a second until you see "Entering Setup" appear in the
lower left of your screen. .
4. Use the Right Arrow key to move to the Boot settings page.
5. Use the Down Arrow key to highlight CD-Rom Drive, and then press the
F6 key until CD-Rom Drive is at the top pf the list.
6. Press the F10 key, to save the changes and exit, Yes should already
be highlighted, and then press the Enter key, and the computer will restart.
7. "Press 'R' to start recovery" will appear on the screen and
you should press the R key within three seconds.
8. Press R again when you see, "Press 'R' for Standard System Recovery
options".
9. You will see a Starting System Recovery screen, and then the WinBook
Emergency Recovery CD Screen will then appear.
10. In the System Recovery window click the Next button at the bottom.
11. A window will appear asking if you still want to continue with the
System Recovery. Click the Yes button.
12. The System Recovery will begin.
13. At approximately the half way point, you will see a message to insert
the second CD, do so and System Recovery will continue.
14. When the System Recovery has completed, a window will appear telling
you to click on the Restart button. Remove the restore CD and click the
Restart button and the computer will restart into Windows.
To do a Format and Recovery of Windows XP:
1. Do steps 1 to 7 above.
2. Press the F key you see "Press 'F' to format drive and perform
a full system recovery".
3. "Please confirm with 'Y' to format drive and install a new operating
system" will appear on the screen, press Y to continue.
4. You will now see a "Preparing System Recovery partition - please
wait" screen. Let that load.
5. The WinBook Emergency Recovery CD Screen will then appear and the recovery
process will start.
6. At approximately the half way point, you will see a message to insert
the second CD, do so and System Recovery will continue.
7. When the System Recovery is finished a window will appear telling you
to click on the Restart button. Remove the restore CD and click the Restart
button and the computer will restart into Windows Setup.
