When playing back VCD or MPEG1 files using Windows Media Player the user will hear audio but no video is displayed the same MPEG1 files play just fine using WinDVD. This is how to change it so you can hear the audio in Windows Media Player.

  1. Open up media player, and click on Tools and then select options. Then choose the performance tab.
  1. Then Click on the advanced tab, and click on "Use video mixing renderer" to de-select it, like shown.
  1. Then just click ok, and then apply in the first window. You should now see video in Windows Media Player.
