Once you have installed Fax Services in Windows XP a fax printer will be installed in Printers and Faxes. To fax a document in Windows XP you will use this fax printer. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the document/file that you wish to fax.
  2. Click on File and then choose Print. This may be different depending on the application used to open your document/file. If it is different, use the print command for that application.
  3. Choose the "Fax" printer from the list of printers.
  4. Click OK.
  5. If the fax configuration wizard appears follow the steps to configure the fax console with your personal settings.
  6. The send fax wizard will now appear. Continue through the wizard to configure the recipient and cover pages.
  7. After completing the wizard the fax will then be sent.
