Subject: Configuring Your Canon BJC-80 Printer to Use the Infrared Port in Windows 95 on a WinBook Computer

General Information: This WinBook Tech Article assumes that you have installed the Canon BJC-80 Printer driver in Windows 95, and the Infrared Monitor is setup correctly.

  1. Click on Start, Settings, and open Printers.
  2. Right click on the BJC-80 icon, and open Properties
  3. Click on the Details tab.
  4. In the option, Print to the following port, click on the down arrow and click on the option Com4: (Infrared Serial (COM) Connection Port).
  5. Click on the OK button.

To Start the Infrared Monitor:

  1. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel and Infrared
  2. Click on Options, and place a check mark on Enable infrared communication
  3. Click on the Ok button
  4. You should see the infrared status icon in the taskbar tray next to the time.

To print a test page:

  1. Check that BJC-80 printer is connected to the unit and online.
  2. Click on Start, Settings, and open Printers
  3. Right click on the BJC-80 icon, and open Properties
  4. Click on Print a Test Page.
