Please note that this card is not supported by WinBook and that this WinBook Tech Article is provided to you as a courtesy of WinBook. For any questions or problems while installing this card you should contact 3COM for assistance.

  1. Insert the PCMCIA card into the lower slot of your PCMCIA slots.
  2. Windows 95 will find the PCI Ethernet Controller.
  3. Insert the Drivers Disk provided with the card into your floppy disk drive.
  4. Click on Next.
  5. Windows 95 will now search for the driver. You will receive a message that a driver for the 3COM Fast EtherLink XL PC Card (3C575-TX) has been found.
  6. Click on Finish.
  7. Windows 95 will tell you to insert the disk labeled 3COM EtherLink XL PC Card Installation Disk, just click on OK.
  8. A message box will come up stating that the file could not be found.
  9. Underneath Copy Files From: type A:\.
  10. Windows 95 will start copying files to your hard drive. Next it will ask you to insert the disk labeled Windows 95 CD-ROM. Click on OK.
  11. Underneath Copy Files From: type c:\windows\options\cabs, then OK.
  12. You may receive several messages that there is a version conflict and that the file being copied is older than the current one. Click on Yes whenever you are asked this question.
  13. When you hear two tones from you computer that will indicate that the installation has been completed successfully.
  14. If you have any problems durring this installation please call 3COM technical support as indicated in the literature you received with the card.
