If your floppy disk drive begins to exhibit excess floppy drive access when Windows 95 loads you must clear the document history in Windows.

  1. Click on the Start button, then go up to Settings, then over to Task bar.
  2. Select the Start Menu Programs tab and press Clear in the Documents menu area. This will clear your document history and stop the excess floppy drive access when you reboot.

Note: Virus scanners can cause your floppy drive to access, by performing a final scan, when you shut down.
