When you have setup an Internet connection, using the Internet connection wizard, dialup networking may dial your modem automatically when you open an Internet browser. If you would like to choose when your modem dials you can disable the automatic function. Click on the Start Button, go up to Settings, and over to Control Panel and double click on the Internet icon. From the Internet Properties window, select the Connection tab. Click on the Connection tab and choose Connect to the Internet using a Local Area Network. Choosing to Connect to the Internet using a Local Area Network selection will require you to log on to the Internet through dialup networking before opening your Internet browser. If you do not log on to your Internet service provider before opening the Internet browser, you will get an error that a connection to the server cannot be established. |
