- If you are using TranXit Pro to redirect IR printing,
You must first disable The Windows 95 drivers if they are installed.
To do this, click on the Start Button and go to Settings. Choose Control
Panel.
- In the Control Panel, Double Click on the Infrared
icon. Go to the Options Tab and take the check out of Enable Infrared.
If you do not have an Infrared icon in Control Panel, The Windows 95
IrDA drivers are not installed and you should proceed on with step 3.
- Open the TranXit Pro software and click on the
PrintPro Tab.
- Click on PrintPro on the menu bar and choose
Install and restart the computer when asked.
- Open TranXit Pro and click on the PrintPro Tab.
- Click on the PrintPro on the menu bar and
choose Enable.
- Click on the PrintPro and choose Always
Enable.
- Click on the PrintPro and choose Printer
Connection. This will open the Printers.
- If your printer is already installed, Right click
on it and go to properties. Click on the Details tab and change the
port to Tranxit.prn.
- If your printer is not already installed, please
refer to the manufacturers instructions to properly install the
printer. Once the printer is installed, again refer to the manual on
how to set the printer port it is installed on to Tranxit.prn.
- Click on the Start Button go to Shut Down, and
choose Restart, then click OK.
- Every time you boot the unit it will ask if you
want to enable TranXit for background printing. Choose Yes. If you choose
No, It will disable Printer Redirection. You will need to enable it
again (steps 5 and 6.)
Installing an IR Printer using IrDA 2.0 Drivers
- Before you do the following, you need to have the
IrDA 2.0 drivers installed. If there is an Infrared icon in Control
Panel, They are installed. If there is no Infrared icon you need the
drivers, they are located on our website: http://www.winbookcorp.com/.
The link to the file is under Drivers and Utilities then FX. The name
of the link is IrDA 2.0 (Infrared Drivers).
- Once the file is downloaded, click on the Start
Button and choose Run, then type win95ir.exe and click OK. This
will extract all the files into the C:\MSIR20 folder.
- Click on the Start Button and choose Run, then
type c:\msir20\setup.exe and press OK.
- Follow through the install, choosing Standard Built
in IR.
- Select the proper port that the device is attached
to. For the FX it should be Com3 and for the XP5 it will be Com1 (Puma
device).
- Make sure the Virtual Printer Port is LPT3.
- Finish the install and restart the computer.
- Click on the Start Button and go to Settings, choose
Printers.
- If your printer is already installed, right click
on the printer and go to properties. Click on the Details tab and change
the port to LPT3.
- If your printer is not already installed, Please
refer to the manufacturers instructions to properly install the
printer. Once the printer is installed, again refer to the manual on
how to set the printer port it is installed on to LPT3.
NOTE: The FX even after installing the printer manually may find
the printer when it is in range. Simply cancel the installation and it
will not find it anymore.
