Below are the instructions for applying the SpeedStep Registry Fix.  This fix is only to be used if you have the Intel SpeedStep technology installed on your computer.  SpeedStep technology is used with Pentium III processors running at 600 Mhz and faster.  This fix is used to solve connection problems when connecting to the Internet via the ESS modem on units with Intel SpeedStep technology enabled.

    Note: Only use this if you are having problems connecting to the World Wide Web using the ESS modem.  If you have already used this Registry Fix, then contact WinBook Technical Support for further troubleshooting at 888-480-9184.

  1. Download the SpeedStep Fix from the link listed at the bottom of the page.
  2. Note: You can either save the file to disk and then double click on it to activate the install, or open the file from the current location to install.

  3. When prompted to overwrite the Registry.ini choose Yes.
  4. Choose Yes to install the information listed into the Registry.
  5. Choose OK on the next screen.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. The SpeedStep fix has been installed on your computer.
