System password provides you security against anyone accessing your computer and files. The passwords are created in the BIOS. You can only use six (6) letters or numbers in any combination. DO NOT USE SPACES OR CHARACTERS AS PART OF YOUR PASSWORD. You must enter the password every time you start or restart the computer. Make sure that you use a password that you can remember. If you forget your password, contact WinBook Technical Support (800-468-1225).

A. Enabling Supervisor Password:

  1. Hit the DEL key when the unit is first booting up.
  2. In the Setup Utility, press the down arrow key to Change Supervisor Password and press the Enter key.
  3. Enter your password in a combination of six (6) letters and/or numbers. DO NOT USE SPACES OR CHARACTERS in your password. When finished entering your password, press the Enter key.
  4. Retype your password to confirm, and press the Enter key.
  5. A new supervisor password is installed, press any key to continue.
  6. Press the F10 key to save current settings and exit, and hit the Enter key for Yes (Y).
  7. The unit will reboot, and ask to Enter CURRENT Password. You will not see any characters on the screen as you type, but once you press Enter after typing in the password, the unit will reboot and continue loading Windows 95.

B. Enabling User Password:

  1. Hit the DEL key when the unit is first booting up.
  2. In the Setup Utility, press the down arrow key to Change User Password and press the Enter key. NOTE: You will need to set first the Supervisor Password.
  3. Enter your password in a combination of six (6) letters and/or numbers. DO NOT USE SPACES OR CHARACTERS in your password. When finished entering your password, press the Enter key.
  4. Retype your password to confirm, and press the Enter key.
  5. A new user password is installed, press any key to continue.
  6. Press the F10 key to save current settings and exit, and hit the Enter key for Yes (Y).
  7. The unit will reboot, and ask to Enter CURRENT Password. You will not see any characters on the screen as you type, but once you press Enter after typing in the password, the unit will reboot and continue loading Windows 95.

C. The User Password will have less options in the BIOS while the Supervisor Password will have full access to the BIOS, including changing User Password.

D. Changing Passwords can be done by the Supervisor Password only. You will re-enter the current password first, then type in the new password.

E. Disabling Passwords can be done by the Supervisor Password only. You will re-enter the current password first, and then press the Enter the key. Supervisor password is disabled, and press any key to continue. If there was a User Password, it will be disabled too.
