General Information: The WinBook FX Mini-dock functions as an extension of the laptop's ports. The Mini-dock has a PS/2 mouse port, PS/2 keyboard port, a serial port, an LPT port, a VGA port, a joystick/midi port, an infrared port, a external speaker jack, an external microphone jack, a audio line out jack, and an A/C adapter connection. The Mini-dock also includes 2 additional PCMCIA sockets. Q. Can I use infrared connection while the unit is docked? A. Yes, the infrared port is located on the side of the mini-dock. Q. Can I put the WinBook FX on the mini-dock while the unit is on? Or in suspend? A. No and No. The unit needs to completely shutdown before placing it on the mini-dock or taking it off of the mini-dock. Q. Can I use my external speakers on the mini-dock? A. Yes, external speaker jack is on the side. Q. Will I be able to use a PS/2 mouse and a PS/2 keyboard on the mini-dock? A. Yes the mini-dock has two PS/2 ports, one for the mouse and one for the keyboard. Q. Can I hook a joystick into the mini-dock? A. Yes. The WinBook FX does have its own game port, but unit will not support two joysticks at the same time. Q. Do I plug my A/C adapter into the computer or the Mini-dock? A. You can plug it into either for ease and quickness it is suggested to leave the A/C adapter plugged into the Mini-dock. Q. Which PCMCIA slots do I use? A. Once enabled properly you are capable of using any of the 4 slots. |
