You can set Windows 95 with Internet Explorer 4.0 to prompt you for a dialup networking connection whenever you open the Internet Explorer 4.0 browser, and even dial your internet service provider for you. You must first have your dial-up connection established, see WinBook Tech Article for instructions on setting up a dial-up connection.

Once you have established a dialup connection, you must follow these instructions to enable the dial-up networking prompt for the Internet browser.

Click on the Start Button, go up to Settings, and over to Control Panel. Double click on the Internet icon. From the Internet Properties window, select the Connection tab. On the Connection tab, choose Connect to the Internet using a modem. Once you have set the connection option to " connect to the Internet using a modem", dialup networking will ask if you want to connect every time you open a Internet browser. When you get the dial-up networking connection message, you can select to connect automatically.
