Subject: X1 having problems shutting down while connected to a LAN

Note: You will need to have internet access to perform this procedure.

  1. Double Click the My Computer icon on the desktop.
  2. Double Click the EAAXKAAY-C icon (The C: drive).
  3. Double Click the DRIVERS folder.
  4. Double Click the LAN folder.
  5. Click on the Edit tab and choose to Select All.
  6. Click on the File tab and choose to Delete and when the window pops up and says "Are you sure you want to send these 11 items to the Recycle Bin?" choose Yes. This will delete all of the files in the directory.
  7. Next Connect to the internet and go to the following link http://www.davicom.com.tw/download/download_driver_dm9102a.asp and choose to download the version # 1.28.01.0608. Choose to Save it to your desktop.
  8. Double click the icon you just downloaded it should be labeled "DM9102A_..." It will open up a window that has 9 files in it.
  9. Click the Edit tab and choose to Select All.
  10. Click the Edit tab and choose to Copy to Folder.
  11. A Browse Window will open. Click on the plus sign next to My Computer.
  12. Click the plus sign next to EAAXKAAY- C (the C: drive).
  13. Click the plus sign next to the Drivers folder.
  14. Choose the LAN folder and then click OK. This will extract the new drivers into the LAN directory. Close all open windows until you are back to your desktop.
  15. Right Click the My Network Places icon on you desk top and choose Properties.
  16. Highlight and remove everything in the Window. If you have a Dial up Networking adapter remove it as well. You will have to reconfigure your networking properties. Click OK and a window will come up that says you must restart your computer for the new settings will take effect. Choose Yes.
  17. The computer will restart and it will find new hardware.
  18. Next you will get a window that says "The file 'dm9ndi.dll' was not found." Type in the window labeled "Copy files from" C:\drivers\lan and then click OK
  19. Next you will get a window that says "The file 'DM9PCI.dos' was not found." Type in the window labeled "Copy files from" C:\Windows and then click OK.
  20. Next you will get a window that says "The file 'DM9PCI.SYS' was not found." Type in the window labeled "Copy files from" C:\drivers\lan and then click OK
  21. You'll be prompted to restart your computer choose Yes. When the computer comes back up you can reconfigure your network settings.
