Warning: This WinBook Tech Article involves making changes to the Windows Registry. If the wrong value is deleted or changed the computer may not boot back into Windows again with out reinstalling Windows on the computer.

IMPORTANT: Please download both of following files to your desktop before starting this WinBook Tech Article. To download the file click on the link. Then choose to SAVE THIS PROGRAM TO DISK. And click OK. Click the Desktop icon on the right hand side of the window and then click SAVE. Make sure you do this for both of the links below

EZEMAILME.REG and EZINTERNETME.REG

  1. Click on Start. Goto Run.
  2. In the Run line type in REGEDIT and click OK. This will open RegEdit.
  3. Click the "+" symbol to the left of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
  4. Click the "+" symbol to the left of SOFTWARE.
  5. Click the "+" symbol to the left of Microsoft.
  6. Click the "+" symbol to the left of Windows.
  7. Click the "+" symbol to the left of CurrentVersion.
  8. Click the "+" symbol to the left of explorer.
  9. Click the "+" symbol to the left AppKey.
  10. Click on the listing labeled 17 to highlight it.
  11. Click on Shell Excute in the right pane of the RegEdit window to highlight it.
  12. Hit the DEL key once. Click YES in the Confirm Value Delete window.
  13. Close the RegEdit window by clicking the "X" in the upper left hand corner of the window.
  14. Double click the EZEMAIL icon on your desktop.
  15. Click YES.
  16. Click OK.
  17. Double click the EZINTERNETME icon on your desktop.
  18. Click YES.
  19. Click OK.

The EZ buttons will work now to open the default Mail and Browser clients.
