Note: This WinBook Tech Article gives information on setting up a existing dailup internet connection in Windows ME. In order to complete this procedure you will need information from your internet service provider.

Note: If you have problems connecting to your Internet Service Providor you will need to contact their support for more assitance.

  1. Click on Start go to Settings and choose Dial-Up Networking.
  2. This will open the Welcome to Dial-Up Networking wizard. Click NEXT.
  3. In the Type a name for the computer you are dailing: field enter in a name for your dial-up connection and click on NEXT.
  4. Enter a area code(if needed) and phone number for your dial-up connection. Click NEXT.
  5. Click FINISH.
  6. This will create a icon with the name for your dail-up connection in the Dial-Up Networking windows. Double click on the icon.
  7. The Connect To window will open. Type in your user name and password in the fields provided.
  8. Then click the CONNECT button.

After the computer has dailed and connected to your ISP you will be able to use your internet connection.
