Download the Si2kmodem.exe file from the website and expand the file. Copy the drivers from the expansion directory onto a floppy disk. If you choose not to use a floppy, write down where you expanded the files to, you will need it later. 2. Insert the Windows 2000 cd. After a few seconds you will get a message
asking if you would like to upgrade to a new version of Windows. Click
yes. If you do not get this message, open my computer and double-click
on the CD-ROM icon. 4. When Setup presents the License Agreement, choose Aceept and
click next. 6. You will see a "Prepare to Upgrade" box. Click Next 7.You will be asked to provide upgrade packs. Choose no and click Next. 8. Setup will ask you to upgrade the File System to NTFS. Choose whichever option you wish. If you are not sure which option to use, choose no. If you choose NTFS, you it will be more difficult to return to Windows 98 later. 9. Setup will show a list of devices that it does not have drivers for.
The LT WinModem should be on the list. Highlight the LTWinmodem. Place
the floppy disk containing the Si LT Winmodem driver in the drive, and
click "Provide Files". A dialog box will ask you to point to the location
of the drivers. Highlight the A: drive and click next. If you saved the
files to another directory, locate that directory. When instructed, remove
the floppy disk from the drive. Add any other drivers that Setup cannot
find the files for using the same method. |
