Schemes offers a way to quickly change monitor configurations without opening the Display Control Panels. This feature replaces the Fn-F2 key combination used on the keyboard.

1. Go to Start-Settings-Control Panels and open the Display control panel. Click on the Settings Tab, click the Advanced Button, and the the Displays tab.

2. Change the Displays to the settings you desire. For example: When using the computer with an external monitor attached and the built in display turned off, select the external monitor and set it to primary, then de-select the LCD Panel. After the monitors are set, click the Apply button to apply the changes.

3. Click on the Scheme box and type in the name you wish to assign to this scheme.

4. Click on the Hotkeys box, then press the key combination you wish to use to switch to this configuration. It is recommended that you use multiple keys, such as CTRL-ALT-1 to prevent interference with Windows functions.

5. Click the Save button to save the changes. You will not be able to make a new scheme until you have made additional changes to the display setup. You may setup as many schemes as you like, limited only by the possible combinations of display settings.
