WARNING: This FAX update is for Windows 98 Second Edition ONLY. Use of this FAX Update on any other computer WILL result in the loss of information. The FAX update may result in some of your programs not working correctly. If you are not sure about using this FAX update, contact WinBook Technical Support at 1-800-468-1225.

Instructions

NOTE: The FAX update may result in some of your programs not working correctly. This procedure is intended for use with the Windows Messaging client.  If you have another program that replaces the Mapi32.dll file or requires a different version, you may experience issues with the program or with WMS.  If Mapi32.dll issues occur, please refer to the program's manufacturer for information about obtaining the correct Mapi32.dll file to resolve the issue.

  • After downloading the FAX Update file for your computer, make sure the file is located some place on  the hard drive.
  • Click on the "Start" button, Click on "Find", and then select the option for "Files or Folders." Type in fax.exe, and click on the "Find Now" button. Once the file is located, double click on the file to run it.
  • Next, make sure the Windows 98 CD-ROM is in the CD-ROM drive.
  • Right Click on the CD-ROM on click on the open option.
  • Double click on tools.
  • Double click on oldwin95.
  • Double click on message.
  • Double click on us.
  • Double click on wms to install windows messaging.

Note: The first time you open your Fax Client, you will be prompted to what components to install.  Choose only the fax component.
