  1. Turn the computer on and start tapping the F2 key.
  2. Once into the Phoenix BIOS Setup, use the arrow keys to go to the Advanced Setup menu.
  3. Highlight Audio Options and press Enter.
  4. Make sure the following options are set correctly:
  5. Sound should be set to Auto

    Joystick should be set to Auto

    If any of these values are wrong use the F5 or F6 key to change them to the correct value.

  6. Press the Esc key, then press F10, next press Enter to save changes and exit. The computer will reboot and load Windows 95.
  7. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. Then double click the System icon.
  8. In the System Properties window, single click on the Device Manager tab at the top.
  9. Click on the plus sign (+) next to Sound, video and game controllers and then double click on the ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive.
  10. Click on the Resources tab and verify the following:
  11. Input/Output Range is 0220-022F

    Input/Output Range is 0388-038B

    Input/Output Range is 0300-0301

    Interrupt Request is 05

    Direct Memory Access is 00

    Direct Memory Access is 01

    If any of these values are wrong, remove the check mark in the Use automatic settings box. Double click on the wrong resource and use the up arrow button next to the Value box to change the resource to the correct value. Click on the OK button and change any other resource that is set wrong. Press OK to exit the ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive Properties.

  12. From the Start menu, choose Shutdown, then choose Restart. Click Yes to restart.
  13. If the computer has no sound after rebooting, click Start, Settings, Control Panel. Double click the System icon in the Control Panel.
  14. In the System Properties window, single click on the Device Manager tab at the top.
  15. Click on the plus sign next to Ports. Double click on Generic Ir Serial Port(Com3) and then click on Resources. Verify the following resources are correct:
  16. Input/Output Range is set to 03E8-03EF

    Interrupt Request is set to 04

    Direct Memory Access is set to 03

    If any of these values are wrong, remove the check mark in the Use automatic settings box. Double click on the wrong resource and use the up arrow button next to the Value box to change the resource to the correct value. Click on the OK button and change any other resource that is set wrong. Press OK to exit the Generic Ir Serial Port(Com3) System Properties.

  17. From the Start menu, choose Shutdown, then choose Restart. Click Yes to restart.
  18. When the computer is finished loading Windows double click on the Speaker icon on the Taskbar. Mute all the volume controls and then close the Speaker properties.
  19. Double click the Speaker icon again on the Taskbar and un-mute all the mute boxes, and raise all volume to the maximum. Then close the speaker properties window.
  20. If there is still no sound, call Technical Support for further help.
