NOTE: You, the customer, are solely responsible for data security. WinBook strongly recommends that you perform a backup of all personal data contained on your system prior to performing this procedure. Warning: WinBook will NOT be held responsible for any data loss incurred during this process.

With the release of Windows 95 B (OSR/2) and the new 32-bit FAT table, multiple partitions to lower the cluster size have lost their value. Even with the 3 GB hard drives some WinBook computers are currently using, there is nothing gained by having multiple partitions. The cluster size will still be 4096 bytes and not reduced. In many instances, formatting the hard drive again after the initial setup can mean hours of work to get it back to the way it was prior to formatting. We do not recommend the use of partition magic, repartitioning the drive, or drive compression. Most of these will cause the user more problems than the results are worth.

Should you choose to repartition the hard drive to use multiple Operating Systems or a Boot Manager type program on your WinBook, be aware that WinBook will be unable to provide you with full support. Due to the added influence of software and/or configurations that were not shipped with your WinBook, it can be extremely difficult to isolate the cause of some system errors. WinBook will support your unit and the shipping Operating System as far as possible in these types of situations, but it may result in a recommendation to repartition your hard disk back to a single partition and the installation of only the original operating system the unit shipped.
