Subject: Setting up the AmbiCom 16-bit PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter (AMB8002) Card on the WinBook FX with Windows 95 version 950B

  1. 'Make sure your AmbiCom Installation/Diagnostics Diskette is version 2.10. If it is not, Please contact WinBook Technical Support.'
  2. 'Insert the Installation/Diagnostics Diskette in to your floppy drive first, and then insert your AmbiCom card in to one of the PCMCIA slots.'
  3. 'A window will pop up showing that new hardware was detected and then Windows will start the installation wizard. '
  4. 'Another window will pop up with a message informing you it will complete the installation of the AmbiCom Inc-AMB8002. Click next to proceed. '
  5. 'Windows will copy files from AmbiCom disk. Next Windows will indicate that the following updated driver for this device, AmbiCom Combo Ethernet PC Card (AMB8002), was found. Click Finish and then click OK.'
  6. 'Windows will then look for the driver AMB8002.SYS on the Windows CD-ROM. You will need to tell Windows to look on the floppy disk in the A: drive. Just type A: in the dialog box. '
  7. 'Windows will now prompt you to set up your network information. Click OK and enter the correct information in the three fields then click OK again to continue. You may need to talk to your System or Network administrator for this information.'
  8. 'Once the installation is finished Windows will ask you to restart your computer. To do so, click Yes.'
  9. 'Your AmbiCom card is now set up.'
