  1. Boot the computer and when it says starting Windows 95 press the F8 key several times.
  2. You should get the Microsoft Start Up Menu. Choose the option that says Safe Mode Command Prompt Only.
  3. This should bring you to a C:\> prompt.
  4. Type in rename autoexec.bat autoexec.123 and press enter.
  5. Next type in rename config.sys config.123 and press enter.
  6. Next type in cd\windows and press enter.
  7. Next type in edit system.ini and press enter.
  8. Make the changes listed below to the system.ini file.
  9. After the changes are made press ALT F and choose the save option to save the file.
  10. Next reboot the computer to windows and you should have sound.
