  1. If you are using Windows 3.xx exit windows and go to the dos prompt. If you are using Windows 95 choose the shutdown and restart in MS-DOS mode option.
  2. Press Fn F8.
  3. This will bring up the power management screen.
  4. Disable power management.
  5. Hit Esc and then the F4 key to exit the power management screen.
  6. Remove AC power from the unit and let unit run until battery is dead.
  7. Turn off the unit and let the battery sit until it is cool (10 - 30 minutes).
  8. Plug in the ac adapter.
  9. Let the battery charge 2-3 hours if unit is off or let the battery charge 4-6 hours if the unit is being used during the charging process.
  10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 two more times.

We recommend doing steps 1 through 10 once every 40 - 60 days as part of your regular computer maintenance.
