Components required:

  • AT style keyboard
  • AT to PS/2 keyboard adapter cable
  • WinBook SX/DX
  1. The PS/2 port on the back of the WinBook SX/DX is wired for a PS/2 mouse. A normal PS/2 style keyboard will not function properly. In order to get an AT style keyboard to work you have to get a special AT to PS/2 keyboard adapter cable for the SX/DX.
  2. Make sure that the machine is powered off.
  3. Attach the AT to PS/2 keyboard adapter cable to an AT style keyboard
  4. Note: An AT style keyboard has the larger 5-pin din adapter and a PS/2 style keyboard has the smaller 9-pin mini din adapter. You need to find a keyboard with the larger 5-pin din connector.

  5. Attach the other end of the adapter cable to the PS/2 port located in the back of the machine.
  6. Power on the WinBook. The keyboard should work with no further modifications required.
