The four buttons to the right of the power buttons provide both control of CD/DVD playback and quick access to e-mail, web browser and Internet sites or programs. The program Access Direct controls these keys and allows you to select the "scheme" (function) that you wish to have active. The buttons can only function in one scheme at a time: controlling CD/DVD playback or as application or website shortcuts.

If you do not have the Access Direct “Red” dot on your taskbar, to install the program do the following:

  1. Click Start, and then My Computer.
  2. On the menu bar select Tools, and then Folder Options.

  3. In the Folder options Window select the View tab.
  4. In Advanced Settings, select Show hidden files and folders. Also remove the check in Hide extensions for known file types.
  5. Click Apply, and then OK.

  6. Right – click Start, and then Left – click Explorer.
  7. In the left window of explorer, look for the Drivers folder and click the plus (+) to the left of the folder.
  8. Left – click the Button folder.
  9. Find and Double – click on Setup.exe.

  10. The Access Direct Wizard opens. Follow the on screen instructions. The last instruction will ask if you want to restart your computer, Click Yes.

Selecting the scheme for the buttons

  2. Right-click on the icon to bring up the context menu. The current scheme will have a dot next to it. To select a scheme, click next to the one you want.
