Warning: Please make sure that there are no external devices, including port replicator, attached to the unit. Running battery calibration with other devices attached could result in inaccurate battery readings.

  1. With the battery in the unit, plug in the A/C power and let the battery fully charge. The battery charging light will change from amber to green once the battery is fully charged.
  2. Go to the CMOS setup program by tapping the Del key immediately after booting the unit at rate of about twice per second.
  3. Go to the power management section of the CMOS setup program.
  4. In the power management section, select Battery Auto Calibration and press PgDn.
  5. Leave the unit plugged in to the A/C power. The calibration utility will drain the battery and the unit will power off by itself. Let the battery fully charge. The battery will charge faster if the unit in not turned on. This process may take up to 10 hours to complete.
