Booting to the USB
Floppy Drive on the WinBook X4

data contained on your system prior to performing this procedure. Warning:
WinBook will NOT be held responsible for any data loss incurred during
this process.

- Turn the computer on and tap the DEL key about 2 times per second
as the unit is booting. This will take you into the AmbiBIOS Setup Utility.
- Use the down arrow key on the keyboard to highlight Advanced CMOS
Setup and then press ENTER.
- Use the down arrow key on the keyboard to highlight USB KB/Mouse/FDD
Legacy Support, if it does not say ENABLED press the PGDN key one time.
- Press ESC once. This will take you back to the main menu.
- Press the F10 key once.
- It will ask you if you want to save the current settings and exit.
Type Y and press ENTER. Your computer will now restart.
- Once in Windows shut the computer down by clicking on Start. Go to
Turn Off Computer and then click Shut Down.
- If your USB floppy drive is not connected already connect it now.
- Turn the computer on and tap the DEL key about 2 times per second
as the unit is booting. This will take you into the AmbiBIOS Setup Utility
again.
- Use the down arrow key on the keyboard to highlight Advanced CMOS
Setup and then press ENTER.
- Use the down arrow key on the keyboard to highlight 1st Boot Device
and press the PGDN key until it says USB FDD.
- Next, use the down arrow key to highlight 2nd Boot Device and press
the PGDN key until it says IDE-0.
- Press the ESC key once. This will take you back to the main menu.
- Press the F10 key once.
- It will ask you if you want to save the current settings and exit.
Type Y and press ENTER. Your computer will restart.
- If you have a boot disk in the drive it will boot to it.
NOTE: In order to boot from the USB Floppy disk
drive it must be connected before you turn the unit on. If you connect
it while the unit is booting it may not boot to it.
ALSO: When you boot into the BIOS and the USB Floppy
drive is not connected the 1st Boot Device will read DISABLED. If
you choose save and exit when it is like this it will not boot to
the floppy drive until you connect it and set it up in the BIOS again.
