Subject: How to Install RAM on the WinBook X4

  1. Turn the computer off and disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.  Remove the battery from the unit as well.
  2. Turn the computer over, with the front facing you. The ram compartment is located directly above the battery release latch.  It is held in place by two small Phillips screws.  Remove the screws from the compartment cover.

 

  1. Remove the cover and you will now see the RAM socket. To install the new memory card, hold the card with its gold edge connector toward the edge connector slot of the ram socket.
  2. Holding the card at a shallow angle, insert the edge connector into the slot as shown below.

 

 

  1. Push the card fully into the socket.  Then press the card downward until it is flat.  You should hear an audible click as the latches of the connector secure the card in place. 
  2. Replace the compartment cover and the screws holding it in place.
  3. Restart the computer. The X4 will automatically recognize the new RAM.
