  1. Download the RST_2040.EXE file below to your C:\ directory.
  2. Next, make a bootable diskette.
  3. To make a bootable diskette, go to Start, Programs, MS DOS prompt. Put a blank disk in your drive and at the C:\Windows> prompt type SYS A: and hit Enter.
  4. This will transfer the system files to this disk.
  5. Close the MS DOS window.
  6. Go to the C:\ directory were you downloaded the RST_2040.EXE file. Double click on the file. Click the Install button. This will copy the reset file to your bootable diskette.
  7. Leave the disk in the computer and restart.
  8. You will boot to a Command prompt.
  9. At this prompt, type RST_2040.EXE and hit Enter.
  10. The reset will run. Remove the disk and restart the computer.
    Note: The reset takes less than a second to run. You will not see anything on the screen. You will just go back to a c:\ prompt.
  11. Hit the Del key to go into the Bios and run Battery Calibration immediately after running the reset program.
  12. Please remove any external hardware, including port replicator, before running the calibration program.
