Q. Is my Driver Disk bootable? A. The drivers disk is not a bootable cd. If you need a bootable disk your Windows 98 CD is bootable. Q. What is on my Drivers Disk? A. Your drivers disk contains:
Q. My CD doesn't have a label on it, how do I know which side to use? A. If you hold the CD up to the light you will see that one side has rings that are visible, this is the top of the CD. The other side should be placed face down in your CD-ROM drive. Q. How do I reinstall the WinBook Background? A. Copy winbook.bmp from the CD to your Windows directory and then select winbook on the background tab in Display Properties. Q. Which file do I open for help in the Help directory? A. Double click on XL2Help to activate the help file. Q. What is the Fan Utility Test? A. The fan utility test can be used to confirm that the XL2's fan is working. To run the test double click on Fanutil. A DOS window will come up, type 3 and hit Enter. Your fan should turn on. To turn the fan back off run the program and again and type 0 and then hit Enter. Q. What is ERD? A. ERD (Emergency Recovery Disk) is a program that has saved important system files that were created when Windows was originally installed by WinBook. ERD can be useful when system files have become corrupted or are missing, most commonly caused by a software installation that did not install correctly. If you run ERD most software will need to be reinstalled in order to run again. |
