NOTE: You, the customer, are solely responsible for data security. WinBook strongly recommends that you perform a backup of all personal data contained on your system prior to performing this procedure. Warning: WinBook will NOT be held responsible for any data loss incurred during this process.

  1. With the battery in the unit, plug in the A/C power and let the battery fully charge. The battery charging light will change from amber to green once the battery is fully charged. If your battery is not charging properly, you may begin the procedure after leaving the computer plugged in for 3 to 4 hours, even if it is not fully charged.
  2. Go to the BIOS by tapping the F2 key immediately after booting the unit at rate of about twice per second.
  3. Go to the power management section of the CMOS setup program to confirm that all power management is disabled.
  4. Go to the exit menu, select Battery Calibration, press the Enter key and then press Y for yes when it asks if the battery is fully charged. This will initiate the calibration utility.
  5. Unplug the A/C power from the unit. The calibration utility will drain the battery and the unit will power off by itself. Plug the A/C power in and let the battery fully charge. The battery will charge faster if the unit in not turned on. This process will take 3-5 hours.
