When using a PS/2 numeric keypad you will usually need to hit your num lock key in order to fully use its capabilities. As a result this will not allow you to type in alpha characters from your internal keyboard. These steps will allow you to use both the keypad and your keyboard simultaneously on the XL.

  1. Hit the key that says Num Lock on it.
  2. Hit your Control, Alt, and Num Lock keys all at the same time, you should now be able to type normal characters from your keyboard and use your numeric keypad to its full extent.
  3. To disable this feature hit Control, Alt, and Num Lock one more time.
