General Information: The XL does not have a joystick port built into the computer. You have to have the Port Replicator in order to connect a joystick to the WinBook XL.

  1. Start with the computer turned off and the Port replicator attached.
  2. Turn the computer on and press the delete key until you see the AMI bios setup utility.
  3. Press the down arrow key three times so that Peripheral setup is highlighted. Then press the enter key.
  4. The last option should be Port Replicator joystick port. Press the down arrow key until the Port Replicator joystick port is selected.
  5. Press the page down key one time. The selection to the right should read enabled.
  6. Once the joystick port is enabled press the esc key followed by the f10 key then press enter to confirm saving changes and exiting the setup utility.
  7. When Windows loads it should tell you that it has found the YAMAHA OPL3-SA GAMEPORT, and install the appropriate drivers.
  8. After Windows has completed the driver installation your joystick port is enabled.
