Symptom:

When you boot up into Windows  the cursor starts jumping around the screen and is uncontrollable with any of the connected pointing devices.

Solution:

  1. Turn the computer on and hold down the Del key until the AmiFlex High Utility screen comes up.
  2. Arrow down using the Down Arrow key to Advanced CMOS Setup and press Enter.
  3. If you have a listing for Touchpad, highlight it  and press the PgDn key to change the setting to INTELLI. If you do not have a listing for Touchpad, find PS/2Device. Highlight it and press the PgDn key and change the seting to EXTPS/2|TRACKP.
  4. Press Esc to back out of this screen and then F10 to "Save current settings and exit".
  5. This will cause the computer to reboot.
  6. Make sure the Intellimouse is connected to the PS/2 port.
  7. Once back in Windows 95 the mouse should functioning properly.
  8. If it is not operating properly at this point then you may want to contact WinBook Tech Support or Microsoft.
