General Information: This behavior is likely to have been caused by the computer being set for CRT Only in the system BIOS. In order to change the WinBook XL display type bios setting from CRT only back to LCD follow the instructions below. The easiest way to do this is to connect an external monitor to the machine so you can see what you are doing. If you do not have an external monitor available, these steps will set it back to display on the LCD panel. Please be aware that you must follow these steps exactly. You will not be able to see what you are changing without an external monitor, but follow these instructions. Any deviation from the steps could change settings needed for the system to operate.

  1. Start with the computer turned off.
  2. Turn the machine on and begin to tap the delete key for at least thirty seconds.
  3. Press the down arrow key once.
  4. Press the enter key once.
  5. Press the page up key once. This will set the display to LCD only.
  6. Press the esc. Key once.
  7. Press the F10 key once.
  8. Press the enter key once.
  9. The computer will restart at this point. If the display does not come on please contact WinBook Technical Support.
