Your WinBook XL comes equipped with a TV-out jack that allows you to direct the screen output of your system to a television screen. You will need to purchase an RCA cable of the correct length. The TV-out jack is located on the back of your WinBook XL as denoted in the user's manual. If you want to enable the television output for your WinBook XL, follow the directions below.

  1. Turn off the WinBook XL.
  2. Open the back I/O port cover and locate the TV-out jack in the rear panel connector compartment.
  3. Insert the RCA video plug into the TV-out jack.
  4. On the other end of the cable, insert the same-colored RCA plug into the video-input jack on the TV receiver as you inserted into the WinBook.
  5. Adjust your television to the appropriate line selection where you have inserted the RCA plug. For instance, if you plug the RCA cable into LINE 1 on your TV, then select LINE 1 for your TV video selection.
  6. Turn on your computer and turn on the power to the TV receiver.
  7. As your WinBook XL starts up, press the [Del] key when you see the prompt "Hit [Del] if you want to run SETUP." You should now be in the BIOSSetup_Program Setup.
  8. In the Advanced Setup page of the utility, highlight the item "TV Display Type." Press the PgUp/PgDn keys to change the value of the item to NTSC. Save the changes to the setup utility and restart your computer.
  9. After your computer has started and Windows has loaded, hold down the [Fn] key and press the [F2] three times until the output from your WinBook XL is displayed on the TV receiver.
  10. If this does not work, make sure that you are not channeling the RCA cable through any type of RF splitter or converter. The RCA cable should directly connect to the correct television port. Also check to see that the corresponding color of the RCA matches on both ends.
