NOTE: You, the customer, are solely responsible for data security. WinBook strongly recommends that you perform a backup of all personal data contained on your system prior to performing this procedure. Warning: WinBook will NOT be held responsible for any data loss incurred during this process.

Warning: If your mouse has more than 2 buttons or has a wheel on it, special BIOS settings will be required. Depending on the BIOS version, there will be different settings. Please refer to WinBook Tech Article Number WBTA00100262.

  1. Plug the PS/2 mouse into the PS/2 port on the back of your WinBook XL.
  2. Power the unit back on. As it is booting tap the DEL key several times in order to enter the BIOS Setup program.
  3. Press the down arrow to highlight Advanced CMOS Setup and press ENTER.
  4. Make sure that PS/2 Device is set for AUTO.
  5. If it is not, use the down arrow key to highlight it and press the PgDn key until it does.
  6. Press the ESC key to return to the previous menu screen, then press the down arrow until Save Changes and Exit is highlighted and press ENTER.

The unit should reboot into Windows 95 and the external PS/2 mouse and internal TrackPoint should work. Note that the Internal Touchpad will not work while the PS/2 mouse is attached. If the PS/2 mouse does not work, try a different PS/2 mouse or this mouse on a different computer. If problems persist, contact WinBook Technical Support for further assistance.
