  1. Have the computer shutdown.
  2. Turn the unit on and press F2 when prompted at the bottom of the screen "to enter Setup".
  3. Press the right arrow key until the power menu is highlighted.
  4. Change the power savings mode to "Customized" by using the minus key.
  5. Change all the other options to "OFF" or "Disable". Alarm resume time should be 00:00:00.
  6. Press Esc then press "Enter" twice; the computer will reboot.
  7. Go to the Start, Shutdown, and Restart in MS-DOS mode.
  8. Unplug the AC adapter from the unit and let unit run until it shuts off.
  9. Remove the battery from the unit and let it sit for about 20 min.
  10. Without inserting the battery, plug the ac adapter back in and turn the unit on.
  11. Let the computer run for about 5 minutes and then insert the battery while the unit is on.
  12. Let the battery charge for 2-3 hours once the unit is shutdown.
  13. Let the battery charge for 4-6 hours if the computer is being used during the charging process.
  14. Repeat steps 7 through 13 two times.

We recommend following this procedure about every 4-6 weeks to extend the charge life of the battery.
