  1. Shutdown the computer.
  2. Power on the unit; press F2 when prompted at the bottom of the screen to enter Setup.
  3. Press the right arrow and go to the power menu.
  4. Change power savings to "Customize" by using the "-".
  5. Change all other options to OFF or Disabled. Alarm resume time should be 00:00:00.
  6. Press Esc then press Enter twice; the computer will reboot.
  7. Go to the Start, Shut Down, and Restart in MS-DOS mode.
  8. Remove AC power from the unit and let unit run until the unit shuts off.
  9. Remove the battery.
  10. Let the battery sit until it is cool (20 - 30 minutes).
  11. Without inserting battery, Plug in the ac adapter and turn the unit on.
  12. Insert the battery into the unit with the unit running.
  13. Let the battery charge 2-3 hours if the computer is shut down.
  14. Let the battery charge 4-6 hours if the computer is being used during the charging process.
  15. Repeat steps 7 through 14 two more times.

We recommend doing steps 7 through 14 once a month as part of your regular computer maintenance.
