One of the features of notebook computers is power management. Power management helps prolong the usable time on per charge when operating on battery power, and also provides for suspend and standby. There are times when it is desirous to disable power management in the bios setup, such as when calibrating the battery, or simply the operating preference of the user. Another time it would be important is while running Windows 98. Windows 98 power management attempts to override the BIOS settings and can potentially cause conflicts. It is therefore recommended to disable BIOS level Power Management and utilize Windows 98s integrated power management. The following steps will disable power management in Bios on the WinBook FX MP7.
Your computer will then boot on into Windows. |
