NOTE: You, the customer, are solely responsible for data security. WinBook strongly recommends that you perform a backup of all personal data contained on your system prior to performing this procedure. Warning: WinBook will NOT be held responsible for any data loss incurred during this process.

WinBook does not support the setup of driver boot disks. This is being provided as a guide to assist you in setting up your own bootable driver disk. You the customer are solely responsible for getting this disk operational.

Make a bootable disk:

  1. To make the disk bootable put a blank, formatted floppy disk into a computer with Windows 95 on it and go to a DOS prompt.
  2. Type cd\ and then press enter, this will bring you to a C:\> prompt.
  3. Type sys a: and then press Enter. Your disk is now bootable.
  4. Next type in A:\ and press Enter.
  5. Type edit config.sys and press Enter.
  6. Type in DEVICE=A:\ D011V109.SYS /D:MSCD000 Note: the 0 is a zero
  7. Press the Alt and F key simultaneously to enter the file menu and save the file by pressing S.
  8. Exit by pressing ALT and F and then X to exit.
  9. Type in edit autoexec.bat and press Enter.
  10. Make sure the autoexec.bat has the following lines:
    • A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:mscD000
    • @ECHO OFF
    • PROMPT $P$G
  11. Once these lines are in the Autoexec.bat Press the Alt and F keys simultaneously to enter the file menu and save the file by pressing S.
  12. Exit by pressing ALT and F and then X.
  13. Next you need to copy MSCDEX.EXE and D011V109.SYS (from the CD-ROM drivers disk provided with your docking station.) onto the bootable floppy disk. To do this, copy these files to a temporary directory then place your boot disk in drive A: and copy these files from the temporary directory to the boot disk.

NOTE: If you no longer have the driver disk provided with the Docking Station the driver can be e-mailed to you upon request.
